PREVIEW
Green Milk from the Planet Orange – May 5, 2006 – The Funhouse
by Katie Sauro

If you thought that with a name like Green Milk from the Planet Orange, the music would be, well, a little strange, you were right. Famous for their incredibly lengthy songs—some twenty minutes, some almost
forty—this Tokyo trio takes experimentation and prog rock one step further than most would dare, composing mind-bending waves of psychedelia, screeching guitar solos, and gut-wrenching screams from their frontman, who goes only by the letter A.

But it’s not just trippy noise-rock, and not at all gimmickry—all three members of GMFTPO are brilliant musicians, especially guitarist dead k. And while the vast experimental jam sessions are definitely not for everyone, their sound should be appreciated for its technical merit, if nothing else.
