La Rocca
The Crocodile Cafe - September 27, 2006
by Katie Sauro
09.24.06

Just for the pure fact that La Rocca hails from Dublin, comparisons to fellow countrymen U2 are consistently—and unfoundedly—drawn, which could be construed as compliment, but more often than not, is just an easy way for critics to write them off as untalented rip-off artists. But don’t let the hometown, or the critics, fool you. Now based in L.A., La Rocca has brought their keyboard-heavy, pub-and-Supergrass-influenced rock stateside, promoting
The Truth—both their debut album and their candid honesty—with incredible energy and fervent live shows. Very few Irish-born bands can crawl out from behind U2’s ominous shadow, but judging from their tour schedule and their constantly swelling fan base, it is only a matter of time before La Rocca does just that.
