|Show Preview: P.O.S. – March 9 @ The Vera Project
by Ashley Graham
You’d be a fool to not be at the Comet on Thursday night, but if you don’t mind the label, or you’re under 21 and can’t get into our little soiree, then there IS more available on March 9—much as we at The Wig may grimace to admit it.
Your best bet beyond The Blakes if you’re up for something completely opposite it, is P.O.S., as the rapper and company take over the Vera Project’s otherwise indie-rocked floors for a night of fine beats and poetry, straight outta Minneapolis, Minnesota of all places. The Rhymesayers roster is well-represented on P.O.S.’s just-released sophomore disc Audition, as their prize possession Atmosphere even makes an appearance. At the Vera, though, it’ll be all about P.O.S., a talented artist with a punk rock past, and a fast-rappin’ future. The night is sure to be something that the Vera Project seldom sees—and therefore something you definitely SHOULD see… (Even though the latest album’s artwork—photos of P.O.S.’s gang with wires wrapped around their throats—is a little on the freaky side.)
