The Damnwells
Air Stereo

Beware, this review might be a tad bit biased. The Brooklyn quartet came to Spokane awhile back and just pulled my rock ‘n’ roll soul right out of me, baby. Now don’t you forget it! This band represents the true revivalists of rock, I swear. And along with being rockers, they had that punk attitude as you might have noticed with their first album being titled Bastards of the Beat, their first track on said album being titled “Assholes,” and of course being called none other than the damn name of “Damnwells.”
While Bastards carried guitars in all lap steal glory to the max, Air Stereo showcases a long forgotten instrument with the first staccato: piano. Except for a break in jumping dance party behind “Accidental Man” and “I Am A Leaver,” the piano is what carries these damnwells from small punk coffee shops to melodic arena rock.
